Soldering Joints must be smooth and slightly rounded with no sharp edges. The soldering joint should be slightly raised above the lead line to ensure full strength.

All lead lights should be puttied (sealed) on both sides of the panel and there should not be any putty visible.
|
|
|
There should not be any chipped glass or glass edges showing where the glass meets the lead.
|
|
|
The composition of the panel must be aesthetically pleasing with a mixture of different textures and well co-ordinated colours.

|
|
The finish of the work should be highly polished - both glass and lead. This is not a way to conceal inferior workmanship but to bring the lead work to a common finish.

|
Once installed into a frame, the lead on the border of the leadlight should be visible to ensure a finished look to your panel or mirror . This will also give added strength.

|
All leadlight panels, depending on size and location, should have some sort of strengthening system.
